Facebook penetration rate in European countries


Key observations:
  • In 70% of analysed countries between 40% and 60% of the population uses Facebook.
  • Countries from Northern Europe have the highest Facebook penetration rate.
  • The lowest Facebook penetration rate have countries from Eastern Europe. One of the reasons behind it can be Internet access rate in these countries.

Methodology and data source information:
Facebook penetration rate for a given country was calculated by dividing the number of Facebook users in a given country by the population of that country. The sources of data were Facebook and World Bank.
